Acquired music agnosia
Definition: loss of knowledge; "inability to recognize pitch, rhythm, chords, and notes to the inability to discriminate and recognize familiar songs, and judge tonality, and reproduce musical phrases"

Symptoms and causes: commonly acquired; also result of bilateral infarction of the right temporal lobes


Musical Hallucinations

Definition: perceptions of musical sounds in the absence of external auditory stimuli; also includes non-musical sounds (bells, whistles, sirens)

Symptoms and causes: psychiatric disorder, brain lesion, epilepsy, intoxication
